Propellers

Fieldings Foundry have an extensive range of propellers to accommodate vessels from 30 feet to 180 feet.  Our propellers are found on Commercial ferries, barges, superyachts, sport yachts, game fishing boats and multi-hulls throughout the world.  Manufactured from Nickel, Aluminium and Bronze, our propellers are of the highest quality material meeting ISO484/2 class 1 and S standards.

Our qualified technicians ensure the quality of propellers is maintained and pitched resulting in optimum fuel economy, noise reduction and vessel speed.

Standard Propellers

One of the most comprehensive range of standard propellers in the world

Fieldings Foundry along with P&W Marine Engineers' design engineers can assist you in the selection of a standard propeller.  By using a combination of standard selection charts, computer software and the wealth of experience the company has gained over the past 20 years.  Fieldings Foundry and P&W Marine Engineers have the expertise to provide you with the information you need to make the right decision.

Custom Propellers

If you require absolute optimum performance consider having a custom propeller designed specifically for your vessel

A custom propeller is designed for a specific vessel and engine combination to enable that vessel to achieve its optimum performance.  The criteria for optimum performance usualy refers to a maximum speed but can also relate to the other operational requirements as stipulated by the naval architect or the vessel operator, such as low noise and vibration.

P&W Marine Engineers alongside Fieldings Foundry manufacture replacement and spare propellers for some of Australia's leading boat builders:-

  • Riviera
  • Carribean
  • Stebercraft
  • Kingfisher
  • Blackwatch
  • Deep Vee
  • Sea Transport
  • Warren Yachts
  • Precsision
  • Assegai
  • Marina
  • Capricorn Cruisers
  • Mustang
  • Palm Beach Motor Yachts
  • Maritimo
  • Fantasea
  • Aluminium Marine
  • Cougar Catamarans

Teignbridge Propellers: The C-Foil Remains Unbeaten

The Teignbridge C-FOIL continues to outperform all other types of propellers it has been compared with during boat trials.

The C-Foil design has been designed and developed to give unrivalled vibration-free performance and excellent fuel economy. To date the C-FOIL’S performance, on speed and fuel economy, has not been beaten in any sea trial when tested against rival propellers. The design uses an anti-cavitation blade selection that not only gives a higher protection from cavitation but also increases performance. The C-Foil has been selected as the propeller of choice by every boat building company that has tested it against other manufacturers propellers.

Boat builders are delighted with the increased speed, and smooth performance that the C-FOIL provides. Boat owners and operators enjoy the improved fuel economy. The C-FOIL is typically one or two knots faster in the speed range of 30 knots which provides a 3% to 5% better fuel economy. With the high price of fuel the C-FOIL saves its own cost in a short time.

Custom Design

Our computer controlled design and manufacturing system enables us to very quickly produce a custom designed propeller. This ensures that the characteristics of the propeller are optimised in all respects to give the best performance. The propeller is not made from a standard existing design or pattern. The blade area, camber, blade section, and pitch, are used to optimise and produce a bespoke propeller for the vessel application.

P&W Marine are sales and service agents for Teignbridge Propellers based in the UK for Australia and the Pacific Region. For sales assistance, product recommendation, calculations, performance analysis and evaluation, contact us.

A Fixed or Steering Nozzle?
The economical way to increase thust efficency with less power.

As you face increasing pressures to operate vessels more effectively and profitably, you also face the critical decision on the method of propulsion you will depend on for the future: Open propellers…Or ducted propulsion.

The traditional open propeller method is a proven way to operate efficiently; if speed is your primary concern.

However, if you face a need to improve thrust, stopping ability, and reduce vibration levels, it makes better sense to consider installing a fixed or steering nozzle system.

The economics of a ducted propeller system are significant; the performance, exceptional.

And we have the information you need to make the decision! Just click on the file below to read all about the benefits of switching to a fixed or steering nozzle.
